Our Livonia practice would not operate so efficiently and smoothly without our wonderful support team—the dental hygienists, the dental assistants, and the business office staff. Many of us have been with Livonia Dental Group for 15 years or longer. The inspiration, dedication, and professionalism of our doctors encourage us to stay right here.

Meet our Dental Hygienist

Barbara (Bobbie): Registered Dental Hygienist

As a part of our team since 1982, Bobbie performs regular hygiene functions, such as checking your medical history, performing oral cancer exams, taking your X-rays, giving fluoride treatments, periodontal charting, and root planing and scaling. Bobbie also keeps her plate full with Zoom! teeth whitening, applying cavity shields, re-care appointments and patient education. She worked in dental offices as a receptionist and dental assistant during high school and when she attended college at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. Bobbie is a member of the Detroit District Dental Association. When she takes time to relax, she likes to paint, play the piano, golf, and garden.

Kathy: Registered Dental Hygienist

Kathy has been with the Livonia Dental Group since 1996. She is a full-time hygienist who cares passionately about improving her patients' oral health. Kathy enjoys working with people and making them feel comfortable. She graduated from Oakland Community College with an Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2009. Kathy is certified and licensed to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. In addition to her employment with the Livonia Dental Group, Kathy is employed by Oakland Community College as an adjunct clinical dental hygiene instructor and dental assisting instructor. She is active in several professional associations including the American Dental Hygienists' Association, Michigan Dental Hygienists' Association, and the Oakland County Dental Hygienists' Association. Kathy was named Dental Hygienist of the Year in both 1999 and 2007 by the Michigan Hygienists' Association. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, bicycling, walking, and reading.

Dolores: Registered Dental Hygienist

A 1965 graduate of the University of Detroit School of Dental Hygiene, Dolores got her start in the dental field at 16, working as a dental assistant. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, the Michigan Dental Hygiene Association, and the Oakland County Dental Hygiene Association. Dolores attends to your oral hygiene needs hands-on by educating patients on different treatments and ensuring that patients feel comfortable in our office. Dolores really loves playing cards and games, especially pinochle and bridge. She also enjoys reading and going for walks.

Kathy M: Registered Dental Hygienist

Kathy joined our team as a regular dental hygiene sub in 2006 and became a permanent member in 2008. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo. She decided to change her career after 10 years in the long-term care industry and graduated from Oakland Community College in Waterford with an Associate's in Applied Science, Dental Hygiene. While working in long-term care, she received her Nursing Home Administrators' License and held several positions from Director of Marketing to Executive Director. Her interest in dentistry came from a dentist friend who recommended her for the profession, and she is so happy to have taken his advice. Kathy loves meeting new people and the "uniqueness" of every mouth, which in turn gives her the opportunity to educate patients about their overall health.

She is dedicated to her profession, and is involved with the American Dental Hygiene Association, Michigan Dental Hygiene Association, Oakland County Dental Hygiene Association, Michigan Dental Association Foundation, and is also an Alumnae Advisor for her sorority at the University of Michigan. Kathy has been named Dental Hygienist of the Year for 2009 by the Michigan Dental Hygienists Association. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to her profession and recently started teaching in the dental hygiene program at Baker College of Auburn Hills. Kathy moved to Michigan in 2000 where she met her husband, Jeff, who works in the telecommunications field. They have one child, a beautiful daughter named Larkin. Kathy enjoys sports and spending time with family and friends. Her outgoing personality will make your visit enjoyable, so make your appointment today!

Debbie: Registered Dental Hygienist

Debbie started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in 1974, and while she has worked in all aspects of a dental office, she loves dental hygiene and working with children most of all. Her forte is putting patients at ease with her knowledge and skill in treating dental disease, and she has great ideas about how to care for your teeth! Debbie has been educated in the treatment of Zoom! teeth whitening and gets excited when she sees a patient on her schedule for this procedure – as she knows firsthand what a difference it can make to your smile! A graduate of Oakland County Community College in 1992, Debbie is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, Michigan Dental Hygiene Association, and a board member with the Oakland County Dental Hygiene Association. In 2004, she was honored with the award of Dental Hygienist of the Year by the Michigan Dental Hygienists' Association. When she's not working, Debbie enjoys designing jewelry, baking, cooking, sewing, and listening to audio books.

Meet Our Dental Assistants

Barbara: Dental Assistant

Barbara, a chairside dental assistant, takes care of many responsibilities to keep our office running smoothly. A graduate of Dental Careers, Inc., Barbara received her X-ray certification from the Michigan Dental Association's Dental Assisting Radiography Program. Besides working chairside, she also takes and processes X-rays, takes and pours impressions, and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and surfaces to keep patients safe. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys photography and traveling; she has visited 22 states and 12 countries. Her newest hobby is her adorable long-haired Chihuahua, Molly.

Denise F.: Dental Assistant

During high school, Denise worked part-time as a dental assistant. She took a break to have her two children, and then rejoined the field of dentistry with our practice. Denise assists the dentists chairside, sterilizes equipment and instruments, checks on lab cases, and helps the hygienists. Denise loves spending time at her cottage up North and being outdoors. She also likes to work in her yard, travel, and if it's fall in Michigan, you will most likely find her at the U of M football games in Ann Arbor.

Denise W.: Dental Assistant

Denise has been with us since 1999. She assists the doctors chairside and takes any X-rays and impressions. She is trained in all aspects of our CEREC machine. During her free time, Denise likes to participate in sports and scuba dive. She vacations 365 days of the year by as much fun as she possibly can.

Michele: Dental/Business Assistant

With a career that began in her uncle's dental office, Michele has the skills and experience needed to succeed on our team, having joined our group in 1989. She helps the doctors at the chairside, works at the front desk scheduling appointments, and provides stellar customer service. Getting to know patients and making them feel at home in our office gives Michelle great satisfaction. Michelle enjoys traveling, walking, getting together with friends, and spending as much time with her grandson as possible.

Manorama: Dental Assistant

Manorama joined our team in 1999. She offers chairside help and takes your X-rays and impressions. Her goal is to provide quality care to our patients. Outside of work, Manorama enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.

Meet Our Business Staff

Andrea: Office Manager

Since 2000, Andrea has kept the office running smoothly. She will greet you as you enter our office, file your insurance claims, and schedule your appointments. Andrea likes to spend her extra time reading, bicycling, and going to the movies. She also enjoys most outdoor sports activities and taking her daughter to the park.

Nichole: Business Assistant

Nichole started her career with our team in 2005. Expect to see her pleasant smile when you arrive at our office. She oversees the scheduling of our hygiene department and will help you with any insurance or financial concerns. Nichole has currently returned to school and is studying business administration. To make the most of her time away from the practice, Nichole enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, and all outdoor activities, including rollerblading and camping.

Susan: Business Assistant

In 1977, Susan began her career as a dental professional; she has worked in our practice since 1998. When patients visit our office, Susan will welcome them and complete appointment check-in. She also deals with the verification of insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, and answering the phone. Susan has a great enthusiasm for her job, loves her work, and attends seminars to stay up-to-date on advances in her field. For relaxation, Susan likes to visit with her grandchildren, paint, and arrange flowers.
